Boundless Void
Back then, he was proud of himself
His hands were raising the newly-grown saplings
To become fruitful
Back then, in his mind
Were many important things
Back then
Trees learnt from him
Back then his limbs were tame
Perhaps they were afraid of his greatness
But today
His hands are dry and lifeless
His eyes are burnt; there is a void
Now the transparency of his mind in the heart’s lagoon
Is dying
He doesn’t trust his own feet
As if they have erred and are under someone else’s command
They have gone astray
He sat in the corner of silence
He has gone to the depths of Lethe
And is free of time’s memory
Alas!
It is a boundless void.
