Biographies of Herati woman poets

She was born early in the 19th century and died late in that century.  The daughter of Sikandar Khan, the King’s minister of Defence, she was a well-known personality.  Her brother was Ali Qul Khan.

Mahjub began to write poetry with the help and support of her brother.  She got married at a very young age to a husband who mistreated her, but he passed away a short while later.
