Biographies of Herati woman poets

Hanifa’s birthplace is Herat.  She was born in 1953.  She graduated from the Teacher Training Institute of Herat and worked as a teacher for 7 years. She left the country during the soviet invasion. She lived in Iran for five years, India for two years and so far 13 years in Canada.

She wrote for Herat's Literature Magazine and newspapers. She also has written for some publications outside the country.

She was a member of the Afghan Women’s Union in Ontario, Canada.  For 10 years, she has worked as a Dari teacher for Afghan students in the Toronto Education Department and as a Project Coordinator for Park Recreation.
